Based on widely-published statistical data and community planning documents, Rose will explain how commercial developers would assess the Sanford area as a marketable location for business. Drawing on her extensive experience, she also will compare Lee County with other similar regions. Rose is president of Rose & Associates Southeast Inc., a North Carolina land development and real estate advisory firm. The company based in Davidson specializes in market feasibility analyses, site selection, strategic planning and development management. She has managed the planning, development and marketing of many commercial projects -- including industrial plants, hotels and shopping centers. Rose holds the prestigious Certified Commercial Investment Member certification for commercial real estate professionals and has served as a faculty member for the CCIM Institute, which awards the distinction. She also is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, the National Network of Commercial Real Estate Women and the Real Estate Educators Association. John Daniel, president of the Committee of 100, said Rose's assessment should be very helpful for anyone interested in the county's economic future. "Kathleen is an exceptional professional, who knows business and understands what makes a city marketable," he said. "If we listen to her conclusions, we will be in a much better position to create a prosperous economic climate for all of us." The luncheon meeting at Chef Paul's Cafˇ and Catering begins at noon. All Committee of 100 meetings are open to the public. The cost, including lunch, is $10 for committee members and $15 for the public.
