LEE COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION Southern Base of the Research Triangle Region NEWS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Friday, February 16, 2007 NOTED DEVELOPER KIRK BRADLEY TO GIVE ADVICE FOR LOCAL GROWTH SANFORD -- The Big Migration is underway as residents flee the Northeast, pack up in the Rust Belt and all move South. Many are heading to the Research Triangle Region for its moderate climate, easy accessibility and world-class business opportunity. Kirk Bradley, who planned and developed The Governors Club in Chapel Hill, one of the Southeast's premier developments, will explain how Lee County can draw upscale residents and business executives seeking an attractive place to live and invest. His analysis of the community, "Here They Come: Positioning Lee for Positive Growth," will be held Mar. 1 at Chef Paul's Cafe in Sanford. The Committee of 100's quarterly luncheon begins at noon and is open to the public. Bradley will look at residential growth in the Research Triangle before assessing Lee County's "balance sheet" of assets and liabilities. He will then suggest which attributes should be the prime focus for growth and discuss specific ways the community can promote that all-important quality of life and and a distinctive sense of place. In addition to developing The Governors Club with his late uncle Truby G. Proctor Jr., Bradley serves as chairman, president and CEO of Lee-Moore Oil Co. in Sanford, a private, family-owned business focusing on real estate investment and venture capital. He received his MBA in 1986 from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and is a 1984 graduate of the University of Georgia. The developer is a member of the Urban Land Institute and a licensed real estate broker in North Carolina. All Committee of 100 meetings are open to the public; the cost, including lunch, is $15 per person for the general public and $10 per person for members.
