LEE COUNTY EDC UNVEILS REDESIGNED
WEB SITE TO ATTRACT NEW BUSINESS

SANFORD -- A redesigned Web site aimed at attracting business and industry to Lee County has been unveiled by the Lee County Economic Development Corp., a nonprofit organization supported by local governments.

"Some of the world's best-known companies thrive here in Lee County. That's a major selling point for our community, and its the message we want to get out to companies looking for a place to do business," said director Bob Heuts. "The new site will help us get that vital message across."

While the site is still available at its old address, www.lcedc.com, a new path to the site has been added. The second address, ThriveInLee.com, may be used in advertising to reinforce the site's central theme.

Heuts said the new design makes essential information more accessible and provides direct access to some services, like interactive mapping, that were not available from the old site.

Though it's focused on business and industry executives, the site includes features useful to other visitors and local residents.

The media relations page includes the "Directory of Lee County Officials" -- an online guide to public officials -- along with a wealth of local business news, publications and reports.

As part of the redesign, the Committee of 100, a business support group, received its own Web site. Accessible through a link on the economic development site, or directly via LeeC100.com, the new site offers the Economic Indicators quarterly newsletter and news on guest speakers and special events sponsored by the group.

The Lee County Economic Development Corp. is a nonprofit organization established to attract industry, enhance job opportunities and promote sound planning across Lee County. Funding is provided by the county, as well as the City of Sanford and Town of Broadway, the two county municipalities.
